Old Florida. This iconic landmark in Treasure Island has stood since it opened in 1957. I went to my first highschool party there in the mid 80’s. Last year hurricane Helene devastated the property with the storm surge. I heard 146 rooms were destroyed therefore condemning the Hotel. It will join countless hotels, motels and cottages that suffered the same fate. It will be demolished and rebuilt as a resort. Saving the sign. The drive along Gulf Blvd has gone from quaint mom and pops to corporate highrise condos and resorts. I know progress is inevitable.

It is featured in the 2026 Beach Art Center calendar in Indian Rocks. It’s March. You can purchase one via their website or in person.
